The PacMAT Grant
Currently only one in ten individuals with substance use disorder who need treatment receive treatment. Through this grant, WellSpan and its partners will expand access to MAT to uninsured, underinsured and privately insured patients who are suffering from the disease of addiction.
What is MAT?
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) combines the use of medications and behavioral therapy to treat people who have substance use disorders. The use of certain types of medications, like buprenorphine (Suboxone/Subutex/Zubsolv), methadone, and naltrexone (Vivitrol) has become a central part of the treatment of opioid use disorders.
WellSpan MAT Hub-and-Spoke Model Purpose
WellSpan MAT Hub-and-Spoke (WSMAT) model will provide all necessary aspects to ensure that patients are connected to physical, mental and social health services to support their recovery. With clearly defined roles and patient flow processes, each partner and, more importantly, the patients within the Hub and Spoke model will benefit from increased connectivity.
