Short-Term Residential Program Goals
In accordance with our mission of promoting hope, healing, and wholeness, the goals of the Child & Adolescent Short-Term Residential program at WellSpan Philhaven are to:
- Provide individualized, culturally-relevant residential psychiatric treatment for each youth near their community so that the family and community may actively participate in the treatment process.
- Provide an intensive, multi-level treatment environment designed to promote skill and goal attainment for residents who have experienced multiple treatment failures.
- Provide 24-hour supervision and a highly structured, treatment-intensive, non-inpatient environment to enable the youth to develop a level of functioning that will allow a safe and successful transition to less-restrictive, community-based setting.
Residential Treatment Facilities
Boys Campus West Residential Treatment Facility
Our program for boys has a maximum capacity of ten residents, between the ages of 12-17, admitted to the program at any one time.
Girls Campus Residential Treatment Facility
Our program for girls has a maximum capacity of nine residents, between the ages of 12-17, admitted to the program at any one time.
Length of Treatment
In our short-term residential programs, the length of stay (LOS) will usually range from 4 to 6 months. The length of treatment will be tailored to meet the individual's and family's needs. Should a resident not be able to achieve the identified treatment goals within a 4-month time frame, then this will be reviewed by the resident and her treatment team to discuss continuation in the program.
